From Te-Annu you drive on the Milford way. On the way there is LAke Mirror (the previous one was a mistake - it was lake Mathedon).
At the area of the glaciers plenty of mosquitoes begin to thrive - Milford is full of them - not to forget a repellent (including in the trecks!). From Te-Annu you book the sailing a day in advance. Get from Milford down towards Invercargil, where the CATLINS road begins. In this road you can see plenty of animals - seals, penguins, and so forth - wait for a nice day and do this road when it’s not raining.
FRom there go up to Dunedin. Near Dunedin there is a peninsula named Utegupen with a shelter on the beach for penguin-watching. It also has the CAdburry factory - go and make a chocolate tour.
Moeraki Boulders - rocks on the shore north of Dunedin. Very pretty.
OAMARU - penguin colonies, go out in the evening to watch them.
Get inland at the Timaru area, and drive to seee Mount Cook. Near Mount Cook there is a 45 minuts walking treck called Hooker Valley - worth doing.
Christchurch - a place to sell the car: either in the carmarket or in the weekend market. It is possible to do, the day before selling the car, a daytrip to Arthur’s Pass.
Kaikura - It is possible to get there either by going down from Pigtown or up from Christchurch. It is a place to see and to dive with dolphins and whales.

Upon leaving NZ an airport tax of 20NZ$ applies.
