A Few Pictures from Italy

Just some pics from Italy
About two thirds of the honeymoon behind us, now we have a few minuts to summarize the highlights until now in a few points.
In our two days in Madrid, though a bit overwhelmed by the heat and the jet-lag, we managed to taste most of the “classical attractions” the city center offers the tourist. We visited the royal palace, the Prado museum, the Sabatini and Retiro gardens; we dined at a fancy Paella restaurant and saw an excellent flamenco show; we washed our eyes on shop centers along the gran via and near plaza de espana, plaza mayor, y plaza del sol; but before describing that, I want to complete the description of our visit to Mexico City.
Mexico City has this unique feature: each street in the city center is dedicated to a certain field of commerce, without mixing with other fields. Thus, you have a street of bookshops, a street of jewellery, a street of shoe stores, a street of electronics, and so on. I wander what led to this situation - I don´t think it was dictated by the authorities, but this congregation effect is evident if you strall in town.
The last two days were well spent exploring the more cultural sides of Mexico. This is an amazing city, and has a lot to offer. I feel we are only scratching the ice - and even this, only on the side of high art.
It took us less then a few hours to decide that we both like Mexico city very much.
Our last two days at Oaxaca were fully dedicated to the rich heritage and tradition of the area.
Our second day in Oaxaca was well spent out of town. We took a tour to see some of the nearby attractions - that is, in addition to what the town itself has to offer.
Just a few pictures from Sumidero Canyon, the Indian villages near San-Cristobal, and one from a street dance at Oaxaca.
